We at the Comparative Neuromuscular Laboratory have been dedicated to providing quality diagnostic services to the veterinary profession for many years. In continuing with this tradition, we have recently updated this website. The goal of this website is to answer questions you may have about our services as well as to provide forms and instructions for sample submissions. Please feel free to visit this site regularly as we will be adding new publications and new features such as our "Case of the Month." So that we may continue to provide you with the highest level of service, we ask that you observe the following:

  • The Comparative Neuromuscular Laboratory working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PST. As our regular hours do not include weekends or holidays, we ask that specimens be shipped routinely Monday-Thursday.

  • Use only guaranteed overnight carriers for specimen shipment and always obtain a tracking number for your package (NOTE: U.S. Postal Express may take longer and specimens may be ruined)

  • Please label each specimen with the patient's name and date/time of collection, using permanent ink, and place in a resealable plastic bag. Please place a completed test request form in a separate bag to avoid contamination from the specimen. For specific instructions for any given test, please see the sample submission instructions.

  • Carefully note the stated turnaround time for each test (see sample submission instructions) before contacting us for results. The stated turnaround time starts from the time we receive the sample and does not include the time necessary for shipping.

  • If you feel that you are missing a faxed result, please review your files thoroughly before requesting a second fax. We reserve the right to charge a fee for sending any additional faxes!

  • If you wish to verify your shipped sample was received, please contact your overnight carrier. By utilizing your tracking number, you can check the status of your shipment at the following websites or telephone numbers: http://www.fedex.com or 1-800-463-3339; http://www.ups.com or 1-800-742-5877
